About

Pussyowl is a web comic by me, Stuart Wood, inspired by characters from the classic Edward Lear poem, The Owl & The Pussycat.

In 2005 I created approximately one hundred pixellated animations based around my interpretation of the owl and the pussycat characters. These involved a large number of videogame and movies references and eventually evolved into the comic you’re reading now! Pussyowl initially ran throughout 2012, culminating in a limited print volume, and now returns sporadically!

In 2015 the Pussyowl universe will expand with the release of an iPhone app, CRAZY SEAHORSES!

Your Owl and Pussycat comic strip is a fresh take on a lovely nonsense poem – I’ll be stopping by to catch up on their adventures. Good luck with all your illustration projects.
